Purpose
(excerpted from the Articles of Incorporation of The Living Room of Brevard)
Article IV - PURPOSE
The corporation is incorporated under Florida Statues 617. The Corporation is organized and shall be operated exclusively
within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal revenue Code of 1986, as amended, and not for pecuniary
profit. More specifically, the Corporation is organized and shall be operated to promote the well-being of the
Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgendered communities by:
(a) Serving as a sanctuary for all Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgendered people and a focal point for community
organizing.
(b) Providing programs and services that empower, educate and entertain the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgendered
community, and strengthens the intellectual, physical, social, emotional and spiritual well-being of Gay, Lesbian,
Bisexual and Transgendered people through these programs and services.
(c) Building strategic alliances for the purpose of increasing influence, improving effectiveness, and strengthening
relationships between the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgendered community and the broader public.
(d) Celebrating our differences by fighting discrimination, inequality, oppression and injustice.
